Landscape is a constant inspiration This imagery is from Wisconsin or Minnesota and is painted in oil on linen. I was inspired by the plein air painters of the French school: Corot, Monet, Pissarro, and Bonnard, My work has developed in series, usually the park garden, the trail, the lake and where ever I can sustain several paintings. Often, family appears as part of the landscape that adds a narrative and a universal experience. My most recent series is Main Street. I want to bring out the extraordinary in the mundane or everyday image. My hope is that people will be enriched by viewing the paintings based on the light, color, brushstokes and general positivity or even "beauty" that surrounds them.
